Meet our Pastor
Pastor Angela D. Cunningham, the founder of Empowerment Christian Ministries, born in Memphis, Tennessee, is the oldest of six daughters to George and Gloria. She was educated in the Pontiac, Michigan, School System. Pastor Angela later moved to Washington, DC, through the military, where she began working for the Government. In God's strength, while working full-time and part-time jobs and becoming a single parent of three children (Portia, Jason, and Ebony), she attended Prince Georges Community College and then later transferred to the University of Maryland University College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management. Pastor Angela married the love of her life in 2020, Bro. James G. Cunningham

Pastor Angela D. Cunningham, the founder of Empowerment Christian Ministries, genuinely loves God and His people. She has a strong conviction to give God her best praise for all He has done in and through her life. Pastor Angela walks in transparency as her life is a living testimony of God's delivering power. She is a witness that you can recover all and live in abundance through Christ Jesus-mind, body, Spirit, and soul.
Pastor Angela accepted the call to ministry in 2003. In September 2012, she preached her initial fireball sermon, "Stay Focused," and was licensed to preach the Gospel as an Associate Reverend until accepting her call and elevation to plant and pastor a new church in March 2022, Empowerment Christian Ministries Incorporated, Fort Washington, MD. God called Pastor Angela, alongside her husband, First Man, Brother James G. Cunningham, to a healing and deliverance ministry that transforms people from the inside out and catapults them into living an abundant life through Jesus Christ. Pastor Angela has a yearning for hurting and heavy-laden souls. She realizes that God has called her to be a prayer warrior and battle fighter for those in need. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
First Man, Brother James G. Cunningham, the founder of "Real Talk, is a man of great faith who loves the Lord. With the same conviction and yearning for God's people, he also walks in the transparency of God's Healing and Delivering power. Bro. James is a walking miracle, receiving a full heart transplant in 2021.
